The Medium Delicious Trail Dolomiti is a running race along the paths of the Dolomites UNESCO Heritage Site of around 35 km. with a positive difference in altitude of 1900 metres; the start is on Saturday 28th September 2024 at 9 a.m. in the centre of La Villa in front of the tourist office (via Colz 75, La Villa, BZ). Time limit: 9 hours.
For the second edition the trail has been improved and slightly modified to make the race even more special.
The race starts in the centre of the village La Villa, reaches the beginning of the “Path of the Artists”, and then proceeds uphill on the final section of the Altin ski track. Shortly after entering the forest, participants follow a path that leads directly to the Gran Risa slope, next to the start of the Alpine Ski World Cup giant slalom races scheduled for the 17th and 18th December. The route continues up the Gran Risa slope and reaches the Club Moritzino Refuge, the first stage of the medium-distance run. On the plateau, the route continues towards the Ütia de Bioch Refuge and then joins the path leading to the Pralongiá area and the Störes meadows. Then begins the descent to the Armentarola district, on the edge of the Fanes-Senes-Braies Nature Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site. From there, an all-uphill trail takes the runners to the Scotoni Refuge, the last stage before reaching the summit of the Piccolo Lagazuoi at 2778m. Here begins the all-downhill trail to the finish line at Pocol.
Three great refreshment points have joined the Delicious team along the Badia Valley route section. You can rest at these points and enjoy high-quality local snacks. Here below we introduce them to you:
Club Moritzino - Ütia de Bioch - Rifugio Scotoni
The route then continues in the municipality of Cortina and leads to the refreshment points Lagazuoi Refuge and Baita Resch.
A paid shuttle service to and from the venues - from Cortina to Badia and from Pocol to Badia - is available by reservation.
The trail running race Medium Delicious Trail Dolomiti was included in the ITRA (International Trail Running Association) race calendar and in the UTMB index race calendar and assigned the following points: 2 ITRA POINTS and UTMB INDEX EVENT 50K*.
* From 2022 onwards, UTMB WORLD is using a new system: races will no longer be awarded "Qualifying Points". All races will now be placed into 1 of the 4 UTMB Distance Categories, which are 20K, 50K, 100K and 100M.
Participants who finish their race will receive a UTMB Performance Index in the race category. The Performance Index is used similarly as the "Qualifying Points" to show a runner’s experience at different distances and can be used to enter the UTMB® World Series Events and combined with Running Stones to enter the UTMB® Finals.
UTMB Index races do not give Running Stones to finishers as these are only available to finishers at UTMB® World Series Events and UTMB® World Series Majors.
This year the photoshoot of the Delicious Trail Dolomiti was once again entrusted to the Sportograf team. Sportograf’s photographers are equipped with top apparatus, are sports enthusiasts themselves and offer a precise service with high-quality digital images.
